I so much love the people that God has so strategically placed in our lives right now to share it all with us — the good and the messy. I’m thankful for these people who will sit on my floor, toys strewn about them, graciously listen to confessed sin, humbly confess sin themselves, encourage one another to greater love and good works, and pray their hearts out for hours….. all while holding someone else’s baby.
We NEED the church, y’all.
What if the unity the world is groping for, but can’t seem to grasp onto, can only be bought by the blood of Christ? What if the church functioned like this so beautifully and so loudly that it was compelling to an outside world who can’t seem to get along?
Lord, let it be so.
“Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints.” Romans 12:9-13
