Costly Freedom

I’m so thankful to live in a country where we can take days off of work, play, relax, rest and be with family. And I’m thankful for the men and women who have fought to make and keep those and all of our freedoms possible. I know personally how anticipated the day is when your daddy will finally come home from war. Today I hurt for the people who can’t ever escape their hurt because their daddy never did.

I have sat in my chair with joy today as I have watched my husband play and giggle and run with and catch butterflies for my kids, but I have also felt sad that there are a lot of kids who’s dads are not here to play with them today, and a lot of moms trying to figure out how to make life happy again without them.

I know that nothing in life is free, but freedom is one of the most costly. There’s no place like America.
