Passion Week and Conversations

I’m so thankful for the way the Lord has graciously guided me to many sweet people to talk to lately while I have been out and about with my three girls. He’s lead us to several precious Gospel conversations with “strangers” this past month so naturally, and even sometimes provided a way for a continued relationship with these people. I’ve also been increasingly grateful this year for the ways that even people who are generally very closed off to the idea of church and spiritual things are all of the sudden opened to talking about the Lord and even opened to coming to church on this one Sunday a year.

I think believers should be living in light of the Resurrection every day and celebrating it every day. Every Sunday we should be celebrating the Resurrection in community at the local church. But how kind of the Father to give us an opportunity to talk to a culture who’s ears are a little bit more opened to hear us in this season. God has really been humbling me to use little errands we always run a little bit less selfishly. He has convicted me of my inwardly focused heart and granted grace to slow down and focus less on checking things off of my to do list with the least hassle possible and instead focus more on the people surrounding me. I’m also so glad to have my precious errand buddies who are always such a sweet conversation starter. 💗

God is sovereign over busy coffee shops and an opportunity to share a table with strangers, sovereign over those 3 sets of blue eyes that seem to draw people to comment on their beauty, sovereign over those times we choose to go inside instead of going through the drive through for the sake of ease and time. May the Lord keep granting patience to unbuckle those car seats more, go in more places, be available for more people, and may he be softening hearts toward the Gospel and compelling people to step into a Jesus preaching church this weekend. Someone recently asked me a convicting question, “is God using you to bring lost people to Himself, and if not, why not?”

“Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.” – 1 Peter 3:13-17
