And um Change My Heart

It’s been a long day…. Sickness and babies and no naps and daddy working. Everyone has failed everyone. We made it to bedtime and Hadassah was making her prayer last as long as possible, thanking God for things including, but not limited to: m&ms, poop (seriously), ice cream, pig, Starbucks, the candy store and bubbles. I am ashamed to admit that in my mind I was trying to figure out a way to get her to wrap it up. Rahab was starting to fuss… feeding her, putting her to bed, chores, a bath and coffee were on my mind. God softened me as I heard Hadassah pray:

“and help me and mommy to love you and help me obey you. And, um, change my heart. Amen.”

Amen, Hadassah. Thankful that God used her to remind me that these are things we are to talk about as we lie down.
 ….. Even when I’m tired.

You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them .. when you lie down, and when you rise. – Deuteronomy 6:5-7
